Do I need to be referred?

Not as a general rule, however if you have private insurance it may be required. Please check your policy details in this instance.

Do I need to make a long-term commitment to treatment?

Having an initial consultation with Gateway Physiotherapy will not result in any commitment to a course of treatment. However, it is important to bear in mind that sessions on an infrequent basis may not be enough treatment to impact on severe and persistent neurological disorders. Ultimately the level, frequency and duration of the treatment is down to the individual patient guided by the advice of your Physiotherapist.

What makes a Neuro Physio different from a regular Physio?

All Chartered Physiotherapists have a broad grounding in all areas of Physio, including elements of Neurological physiotherapy.. Neuro physiotherapists have specialise in patients who have neurological conditions such as stroke and brain injury. Our physiotherapists all have years of experience working and completing further study in both Neurological Physiotherapy.

How soon can you see me?

Once you have spoken with one of our physio’s we can normally get you booked in for an initial assessment within a couple of weeks.

What activities do you support?

We want to make sure you can take an active role enjoying activities that are available locally. We can advise on which activities will best suit different ability levels and will let set programmes and set goals to help you reach your potential.

How much does treatment cost?

Are you qualified?

All our Physio’s hold Membership of the Health Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and have many years experience in clinical settings. Many of our physio’s have completed further study in specialist areas.
